Demolition
Safe, clean structural and interior demolition with full haul-off and site prep — the first phase of a remodel, done in a way that sets the whole project up to run smoothly.
Every remodel begins with subtraction
Demolition looks like the simple part — swing a hammer, fill a dumpster — but it is where projects are set up to go smoothly or to bleed time and money. The J Hammer does demo the professional way: utilities made safe, the right testing where the era demands it, the mess controlled, and the site left clean and ready for the rebuild.
What we handle
- Interior strip-outs — removing finishes, cabinets, fixtures and non-structural walls down to studs.
- Structure demolition — garages, patio structures and additions coming down entirely.
- Concrete and hardscape removal — old driveways, slabs and walls, broken out and hauled.
- Full haul-off and site prep — debris sorted and removed, the site graded and ready.
What happens before the first swing
- Utility safety — electrical circuits killed, water and gas capped.
- Testing where the era demands it — pre-late-1970s homes can hide asbestos and lead; testing before disturbance is cheap, discovering mid-demo is not. We flag it up front.
- Permits — structural demo and most remodel strip-outs ride the project permit.
Controlled, not just fast
Good demo controls the mess — plastic containment, floor protection, sealed HVAC registers so dust does not tour the house, and a broom-clean site every evening. And open walls tell the truth about wiring, plumbing, termites and past shortcuts; we photograph what we find and walk you through it before the rebuild, so decisions get made with open eyes.
