Carpentry
Framing, trim, built-ins and custom woodwork by qualified finish carpenters — the trade that gives a remodel its structure and its finishing polish.
From rough framing to finish detail
Carpentry runs the whole length of a construction project — the framing that gives a room its shape and the trim, doors and built-ins that make it feel finished. The J Hammer’s carpenters handle both ends, so the bones are square and the details are crisp.
What we build
- Framing — walls, openings, headers and structural framing for remodels and additions.
- Finish carpentry — baseboards, crown, casing, wainscoting and clean door installs.
- Built-ins — custom closets, media walls, shelving, benches and bookcases.
- Exterior carpentry — pergolas, patio-cover structures, decking and gates.
Why it matters
Trim is where a remodel either reads as custom or reads as builder-grade. Tight miters, consistent reveals, and casing that lines up across a room are small things the eye adds up into “quality.” And framing that is square and plumb is what lets every trade after it — drywall, tile, cabinets — go in clean. We treat both with the same care.
Part of the bigger project
Carpentry rarely stands alone — it is the connective tissue of a remodel, addition or outdoor build. Because we are a full general contractor, our carpenters work in step with the rest of the crew, so framing, drywall, paint and trim all agree.
