Electrical Panel Upgrades
Electrical panel and service upgrades to power a modern home safely and to code — the quiet upgrade that supports EV chargers, AC, ADUs and today’s appliances.
Old panels were not built for modern loads
Many Valley homes still run on 100-amp (or smaller) panels and outdated equipment that were never designed for central air, EV chargers, induction ranges and an ADU out back. An overloaded or obsolete panel is both a nuisance — tripping breakers, flickering lights — and a genuine safety concern. The J Hammer coordinates panel and service upgrades that bring your home’s electrical up to today’s demands, permitted and inspected.
When an upgrade makes sense
- Adding major loads — central AC, EV charger, hot tub, induction cooking or an ADU.
- Obsolete or recalled panels — older equipment known for reliability and safety problems.
- Frequent breaker trips — a sign the panel is at or over capacity.
- Remodels and additions — new square footage and new circuits often need more service.
Done to code, on permit
Panel and service upgrades are permitted, inspected work performed by licensed electricians as part of our general-contracting scope. That means the upgrade is documented, coordinated with the utility where needed, and correct — grounding, bonding and circuit sizing done right, not improvised.
Part of the whole project
Because we manage the entire job, a panel upgrade slots cleanly into a kitchen remodel, an addition or an ADU build — no scheduling a separate electrician and hoping it lines up with the rest of the work.
