Siding by The J Hammer Inc in the Los Angeles area

The skin of your house, done right

Siding is the first line of defense between weather and the structure of your home — and the first thing anyone sees from the curb. The J Hammer installs and replaces siding with the moisture barrier and flashing details that keep water out, in styles that lift the whole exterior.

What we install

  • Fiber-cement siding — durable, fire-resistant and paint-friendly, a favorite for SoCal exteriors.
  • Wood and engineered-wood siding — warm, classic looks with modern durability.
  • Vinyl and composite — low-maintenance options that resist our sun and heat.
  • Accent cladding — board-and-batten, shingle and stone-veneer accents that add character.

What is behind the siding matters most

New siding over a failed or missing moisture barrier just hides the next problem. We install a proper weather-resistive barrier, flash every window, door and penetration, and detail the trim so water is directed out and away — not trapped against the sheathing. On homes with existing rot or termite damage, we repair the substrate before anything new goes up.

Pairs naturally with paint and windows

Because we are a full exterior contractor, siding is often part of a larger curb-appeal project — new siding, fresh paint, replacement windows and new fascia, done together so the whole face of the house upgrades at once and the mobilization cost is shared.

Siding FAQs

How much does siding cost?
Siding replacement typically runs $10–$20 per square foot depending on material and substrate condition. Exact pricing comes from a site walk.
Can you match my existing siding for a repair?
In most cases yes — we match profile and finish where possible, and we are honest when a full elevation is the cleaner-looking answer.
Do you repair damage behind the siding?
Yes. We repair rot, termite damage and failed sheathing before installing new siding — covering it up only delays the problem.
Should I do siding and paint together?
If the siding takes paint (fiber-cement, wood), doing both together shares the mobilization and gives you one crisp, finished exterior. We will advise based on your materials.
